The plot usually determines the names of her characters, knowing what they look like and what they will get up to. The background is also very important to her. She likes to make her stories very real. Since discovering that where one comes from in real life may determine the names of her characters, she recently changed the names of some in her WIP and then had to change a lot about the story because their personalities changed.
For this author, her characters usually are easily endeared to readers because they come mostly from real life and an amalgamation of some of her experiences.
