How to add value to your life II

1. Impact others through giving: A Bible character, Dorcas was particularly a woman of great relevance who built up a great value through her habitual giving. It was such a great sight as all the widows were crying and showing everyone the clothes and materials she had made for them. She was so valuable and indispensable to them that they wished they could die with her (Acts 9:36-43).

Cornelius’ giving and alms had also stood before God as a memorial until heavens answered to the salvation of his entire house in one day (Acts 10:1-4). Living your life for others and being kind to people put you in their hearts as a man of great value.

The Centurion through his generosity had given so much and also built a synagogue for the people of God. He was so influential and the people compelled Apostle Peter to pray for his healing, seeing him as a worthy man and his servant must not be allowed to die, and his servant was given his life back and he recovered fully.

Another woman who was very outstanding in the scriptures was the woman with the alabaster box of great price. She had emptied the whole perfume on the feet of Jesus, and this stood as a memorial for her till today (Mark 14:3-9). Your giving adds value to you.

2. Be diligent in service: God counts on your service as an individual. Remember He once plagued the whole land of Egypt and killed all their first born so that His people could be free to worship and serve Him (Exodus 4:23). Daniel was diligent in his service toward God and he was protected and rewarded for his diligence (Dan 6:16).

3. Build up trust and obedience in God: Abraham earned God’s righteousness and was eternally blessed that he became the father of faith through his obedience and faith. God called him and asked him to go to a place he had not yet been given its description and he obeyed (Gen 12:1-4). Abraham had become so valuable to God and he stood in the gap for Sodom, being someone God felt must know His plans before implementing them.

4. Be an intercessor: You can partner with God through prayers to birth His glory upon the nations and lives of people. The scripture gives an account about Job in Job 42:10 saying, “And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.” His secrets will also be revealed to you like Abraham. “And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do” (Gen 18:17).

5. Use your time wisely: Value draws on the resources of time! Be like the Athenians who knew how to tie their time to things that add value to them (Act 17:20-21). You will be wise if you know how to tie your time to those things that will add value to you.

6. Put your talent to good use: Your talent is a special gift you must put to work and profit with. The skills you acquire through education or other means also fall in line. You have received these by God’s grace and you must use them as instruments of value creation. The servant who buried his talent was judged as foolish and punished because he did not put his talent to use (Matt 25:24-28).

7. Keep your vessel clean: What is your value? Are you in a trash can or in a treasured place? Keep yourself pure and live holy, as you move on in faith and obedience (2Tim 2:20-22).

Benefits of adding value

Access to God’s divine secrets (Gen 18:17); Quick answers to your prayers (Isa 65:24); God will defend you (Exd 4:23); Unexpected blessings (2Chro 1:10-12; Eph 3:20); God’s protection (Num 12:7; Zech 2:8; Ps 105:13-15).

Add value to your life, and make your life count. Remain blessed!
