The Civil Society Scaling-Up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN ) FCT Local Working Group  has called on stakeholders to address gaps in nutrition interventions in area councils.
The group made the call during a town hall meeting on the adoption and implementation of the National Strategic Plan of Action for Nutrition (NSPAN 2014-2019) in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory .
 Some of the gaps identified include inadequate political  commitment to improve the FCT current nutritional situation, lack of budgetary line for nutrition activities, weak Primary Health Care System.
Others are: weak or absence of structures for nutrition interventions at area council and community levels, very poor knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of nutrition especially among under-five care-givers, and traditional and cultural beliefs regarding breastfeeding and other IYCF practices.
Recommendations made at the meeting, include; That the Chairman of the Area Council should create a budget line for nutrition intervention, rehabilitate and strengthen non-functional and weak primary health care system to support nutrition activities in the communities.
