Corruption will be reduced when traditional rulers are accorded authority to checkmate the activities of government officials and politicians.
This assertion was made in Lagos by the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, during the launch of his book titled, “Code of Kings,” to commemorate his 7th anniversary on the throne.
The monarch noted that good governance and accountability would be institutionalised when traditional rulers were involved in the management of the affairs of the country.
Oba Akanbi explained that the book set the standard for kings to represent custom and tradition, noting that “Kings are the representatives of God and they should not bow for any other thing.”
