The Gan Allah Vigilantes in Kwara State have arrested four suspected kidnappers in Oke-Ode in Ifelodun LGA.

City & Crime gathered that the suspects had approached some vigilantes seeking assistance and collaboration to abduct a prominent chief (bale) and his wife in the community.

A resident told our correspondent on Sunday that, “The Gan Allah Vigilantes played along with the suspects, Adeyemi Saheed, Adeyemi Lukman, Johnson Samuel and one other, after they requested an AK-47 to execute the operation.

“However, they were all arrested when they came to collect the weapon from the vigilantes,” adding that, “They have been handed over to the police.”

Contacted, the Chairman of the Gan Allah Fulani Development Association (GAFDAN), Ali Mohammed Jounwiro, told our correspondent that members of their community had been at the receiving end of many false accusations which had led to unnecessary attacks.

He said the arrest of the suspects would, therefore, further expose the identity of others behind kidnapping activities in the state and other parts of the South West.

The police spokesman in the state, Ajayi Okasanmi, who confirmed the development, said, “I’s true, and the suspects are being held at the AKS Department as investigation is ongoing.”
