On Saturday I will be on duty like every other day because I am not going to vote. I don’t have a PVC. I will resume work in the morning and close when my shift ends. I will go home and have a good rest and await election results. However, I am praying that God will grant us a successful, violence-free one.

I will wait for a while to see the situation of things before I decide if I am going out to vote or not. Hopefully, if the election is calm I will come out and vote. I would then return home afterwards and wait for the results to be announced. I don’t buy the idea of people staying back to witness the vote count because it wouldn’t change a thing. If anyone intends to rig, they would still do that with people around.

My school gave us a break for the period of two weeks. On that day I will go out to the polling unit, stand in the queue come rain or shine until I cast vote. I will go back home afterwards to eat, rest and read my books for my upcoming exams and my assignments I have to do. That’s all.

For me there is nothing like voting. I am not interested and that is the reason why I wouldn’t vote. I don’t even have PVC because I didn’t bother registering. I can’t follow long queues on Saturday and exhaust myself under the sun and in the end the person I voted for doesn’t win. That is why I decided not to stress myself. I absolutely don’t have a problem with whoever wins. All I am praying for is that God should give Nigeria credible and honest leaders that will bring change.

On Election Day, I won’t have much to do because I don’t have a PVC. I lost my temporary card and I tried registering for the permanent one but all efforts proved abortive, so I gave up. I will just sit at home, eat, sleep and when I wake up I will watch the TV to see what is going on in the polling units across the country. If I find that boring, I will just watch an interesting movie while I relax.
