The trailer, which was suspected to have lost control as a result of possible break failure, also destroyed over eight vehicles and no fewer than 12 motorcycles.

It was also gathered that the late inspector, whose name was confirmed as Obed Ezra, was among the policemen drafted to maintain order at the All Progressives Congress (A‎PC) governorship primary holding at the Kaduna International Trade Fair Complex.
Recounting his ordeal, a victim simply identified as Nahala, who lost his motorcycle at the scene of the accident said, “I was sitting on my motorcycle when, all of a sudden, I saw the trailer ‎coming in my direction crushing vehicles, so I hurriedly ran, leaving my newly bought motorcycle, which was crushed beyond repair.
“Some women who came to sell food stuff were among those who were injured, including a small girl. They were rushed to the hospital. Some of them sustained fractured legs and arms while a policeman was crushed to death.’’ He thanked God for spearing his life.
Another victim, Abdullahi Maiganga, a meat seller said he narrowly escaped being crushed to death, but his motorcycle and meat were crushed in the process.
When contacted, a rescue officer from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ibrahim Muhammad, said the driver lost control of the vehicle due to over speeding.
Sunday Trust gathered that the driver of the trailer jumped out of the vehicle and disappeared to avoid being lynched. The trailer crushed 10 vehicles.
“By the time we got to the scene the police had already evacuated the policeman’s corpse, but we controlled the traffic to allow free flow after the congestion caused by the accident. We also towed the trailer away from the scene of the accident,” Muhammed said.
