Police have arrested Obakporor Kelvin, an alleged internet fraudster popularly known as a “Yahoo boy,” in connection with the killing of his baby mama, identified as Excellent, in Delta State.

The state police spokesperson, Edafe Bright, stated that the suspect committed the offense between June 25 and 26 and subsequently absconded.

According to Bright, the suspect killed his baby mama, with whom he had two children, using a hammer after an argument.

Bright confirmed that the suspect, who initially escaped, has now been apprehended and will be charged in court.

The suspect reportedly blamed his actions on drug use.

It is alleged that he hit her three times on the forehead with a hammer following a heated argument.

The suspect, who hails from the Udo community, stated that he had known his baby mama for over six years.

“She has two sons for me; one is three years old while the second one is almost two years old,” he told the investigating officer.

He further confessed, “I killed her because she is into hook-up. I know she was into hook-up because when she came to my house, she would have clothes she used to change into after a hook-up.

“It degenerated into a heated argument, and in the process, she picked up a knife and a hammer. I started struggling with her until I overpowered her and took the items,” the suspect recounted.

He then described the fatal moment: “During the process, she bit my hand, and I used the hammer to hit her on her forehead three times. She collapsed and died.”

After the killing, the suspect said he jumped from the upstairs window with the intention of dying, but it “didn’t work,” which led him to abscond.

“Before the incident, I took two tablets of tramadol and also smoked loud. It was the drug that pushed me to kill her,” he claimed.
