It is said this is part of plan to relocate the ITF headquarters from the Plateau State capital, Jos to Abuja.
This has led to uproar especially in Jos as Plateau people look at this as loss of the federal government institution. ITF has offered many Plateau State indigenes job by being the host sate.
The Director General of ITF Mrs Juliet Chukkas-Onaeko who assumed office May last year is at the centre of the headquarters transfer saga.
The ITF building in Maitama, Abuja was occupied by both government and private organizations like Abuja Infrastructure Investment Centre (AIIC), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Hygeia Insurance Finance, Safe Trust Mortgage Bank and Bayo Ojo and Co. Our reporter who did a check on the floors observed that Bayo and C, a law firm belonging to former Attorney General of the Federation is still there despite expiration of its quit notice since March.
Staff of the law firm declined to speak on why their company still operates there. They refered this reporter to their principal who could not be reached.
A source told our reporter that Mrs Chukkas-Onaeko has sacked the company that used to manage the facility. She has since replaced it with another firm. According to the source, the DG reports to work in the Abuja office almost daily.
A security guard at the entrance confirmed that many occupants had removed their wares saying few of them still had their things left but they would move them soon.
ITF Corporate Office Manager Nimoga Gambo who later spoke on phone explained why tenants were asked to leave the building.
