Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has donated two Ford Hilux vans and five motorcycles to the Professional Hunters Association of Nigeria (PROHAN), Gombe State chapter, to strengthen security across the state.
The governor said the gesture was aimed at boosting the capacity of the hunters to complement conventional security agencies in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and other forms of criminality.
He explained that his administration considers peace and security the foundation of development and added that the government would continue to support security actors at all levels to protect lives and property.
The Chairman of PROHAN in Gombe, Alhaji Rabiu Baushe, also known as Baushen Gombe, received the items on behalf of the association.
He commended the governor for the timely support, saying it would boost their operations in communities prone to attacks.
