The late Hussaini Atana, an engineer, has been described as one who never hesitated to lend a hand or listen to others.

Atana’s associate, an experienced builder and estate developer, Nazeer Tanko Kyaure, described his death as the fall of a professional engineer, brother, friend, father, erudite mentor and a role model. 

Kyaure wrote: “Let me start by saying ‘kullu nafsin za’ikatul maut’ (every soul shall taste death), Qur’an 3 verse – 185.

“Death is inevitable. Like it or not, one day we must depart from our loved ones. This is certain.

“The death of Hussaini Lawan Atana came at a time when we were not prepared or ready for it. This is a sign from Allah in his power and dominion over all. There is nothing anyone can do other than accept it in good faith.   Atana’s untimely death is just how Allah (SWT) wants it; and he loves him the most.

“He was more than a business partner; he was a brother. Together we built dreams, weathered storms and celebrated victories. His dedication, integrity and vision helped shape not only our business but the lives of those around him. 

“He had a remarkable ability to inspire trust, loyalty; and his presence brought strength to every challenge we faced.

“But it wasn’t just the professional bond that made Hussaini special. It was his laughter, his encouragement, his genuine care. He never hesitated to lend a hand, listen or simply be there. His spirit was a quiet anchor, and his absence is deeply felt.

“Today, we honour not only his achievements but the kindness, loyalty and warmth that defined him. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in every life he touched and in the values we will continue to uphold in his memory.

“I pray that the family, particularly his twin brother, Hassan Lawan Atana takes solace in the number of prayers coming from different people from various quarters. May Allah grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss and may Jannatul Firdaus be his final home. Ameen Ya hayyu ya qayyum.

“Rest in peace, my friend. You are deeply missed; and you will never be forgotten.”
