The Ubola Rural Community Foundation (URCF), supported by the Northeast Development Commission (NEDC), has distributed dignity kits to 600 students in Adamawa State.

This initiative aims to improve the hygiene and well-being of both boys and girls, enabling them to focus on their studies with dignity.

Pharmacist Musa Dauda Etubi, Executive Chairman of URCF, reiterated the foundation’s commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of students, women, and the broader community.

He emphasized that the distribution of these kits serves as a means of economic empowerment.

Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta commended URCF, noting that the project symbolizes hope and care for the target beneficiaries.

Represented by Commissioner for Transport Chief Mrs. Wunfe Anthony, she acknowledged the challenges faced by the people and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to protecting and promoting the rights and dignity of vulnerable citizens, particularly women and girls.

The distribution ceremony took place at Government Day Secondary School, Karewa, where the deputy governor emphasized the need to build a community where dignity is a fundamental right, not a privilege.

She advocated for the project’s sustenance and commended NEDC and URCF for their vital contribution.

Dr. Fatima Bakari, Assistant General Manager of Health at NEDC, reiterated the commission’s commitment to the wealth, health, and well-being of the society.

Dr. Omede Ogu, Technical Assistant Lead at URCF, shed light on the project’s objective: restoring dignity and hope among those affected by insurgency in the northeast region.

The dignity kits contain essential items such as sanitary pads, hair cream, sanitary towels, underwear, and mats, aimed at bringing dignity to the vulnerable.

In a symbolic gesture, a boy and girl were appointed as goodwill ambassadors to promote the dignity kits’ message beyond their schools and social groups.
