The Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha Danze, has said he is confident of victory at the appeal tribunal but urged his supporters to continue being prayerful.
Danze, stated this while addressing members of his cabinet in his office yesterday, following the appeal tribunal judgement which ordered the lower election tribunal for recounting of ballot papers at some polling units during the April 16, 2016 council polls in the area.
He said he never saw the ruling as a setback, and advised his cabinet to remain focused, steadfast and committed to the yearning and aspirations of Gwagwalada Area Council.
The chairman added that the appeal tribunal judgement was proof that he won clearly during the last council election in the area.
City News learnt that an appeal tribunal sitting at Apo had last Thursday, ordered the lower tribunal to recount ballot papers at some polling units, following a petition filed by APC chairmanship candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Jibrin Giri, to challenge declaration of Alhaji Adamu Mustapha Danze, of APGA as winner of the April 16, 2016 council poll by INEC in the area.
