Where did the attack meet you?
My first encounter with the Boko Haram insurgents was during their attacks on Gulak town. Thank God, I managed to escape the onslaught with members of my family and resettle at Baza. But unknown to us, the attackers had Baza on the list of their targets. Unfortunately, as we were trying to settle and mix well with the residents, they attacked.
Most of my children were at separate locations when the insurgents came, so I had to send someone to get them to join us to run to the mountains. The persons came back later and told me that he had not found them, that they had already left the place.   
From the mountains, I took the remaining children to Yola and, thereafter, went back to look for five others: three of them my biological children and two are my wife’s sisters.
I took a motorcycle to a village called Kiliji, where I had been told that the some of the children were sighted hiding. A woman there told me that she had met one of my sons who she said was always operating a laptop. She said they descended from the mountains together on Wednesday and since then she had not seen him again.
Have you tried going back to Baza to find out if the other children are still there?
I cannot go back to Baza because it is in the hands of the Boko Haram boys. I was told that they have taken over people’s homes to hide from airstrikes by the Nigerian military. In fact, after we took refuge at the mountains, the insurgents continued to fire at us using their armoured vehicle. What saved us was the arrival of the jet, which paused their attacks on us and gave us cover to leave the area.
