A suspected armed robber, who the police say is behind robbery cases on the Abuja-Kaduna Highway, has said he has gambled away all the money he made from his criminal activities.
The suspect, Ego Ike (30), was arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Intelligence Response Team (IRT).
He reportedly said he and his gang members had snatched over N200m worth of exotic cars in Abuja and Kaduna State.
The police said after snatching the cars, the gang members moved them to neighbouring Republic of Benin where they were sold to their numerous receivers who then refurbished them before shipping them back to Nigeria.
Ike, who is a native of Anambra State, said he went into crime because he lost the N6m he was using to run his clothing business to gambling.
