I invoke spirits for production of fake N2.4m – Suspect

A suspect arrested for production and distribution of fake currencies to the tune of N2.4million has told the police he invokes spirits for the production.

Nassarawa state police spokesperson, DSP Idrisu Kennedy said three suspects were arrested for allegedly producing, distributing and being in possession of N2.4 million counterfeit naira notes.

He said the suspects led by one Alhaji Danlami Usman were arrested on February 11 in Mararaba, a community in Karu local government area of the state.

Kennedy said the counterfeit naira notes caught in their possession were in N1000 and N500 denominations and the leader, Usman confessed to police to have been into the crime for years. 

“The prime suspect said his name is Danlami Usman from Bida and has been into this business for a very long time. We asked him whether he uses machine in the production of the counterfeit currency but he said he used to invoke spirits for the production of the fake currency.”

“Further investigations will prove or confirm his assertion. They were arrested at Mararaba by our vigilant detectives and most of the money are been circulated in the night to unsuspected Nigerians,” he said.
