A 35-year-old man, Sunday Adedeji, arrested with vandalized wire mesh has confessed surviving form selling such items in Lagos.
Sunday was arrested on Sunday along the Ile-Epo area of Oke-Odo by policemen from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command.
The suspect, who claimed to have been in the business of vandalising public facilities at a very tender age, admitted selling items which included vandalized street lights, bridge iron railings, aluminum materials from construction sites and many more.
“You cannot go into vandalization of items in Lagos without getting introduced to it by someone or pay for it. We usually go out at night, hiding under the cover of darkness to remove or vandalize those metals.

‘’Most vandals do not have a home; they sleep under bridges or anywhere,” he told police investigating officers at the RRS office at Alausa.
RRS on its X handle said the suspect was arrested around 11pm while the entire road was free from vehicular movement.
“Around 11pm, operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) patrolling Ile – Epo, Oke – Odo arrested one Sunday Adedeji, (35) with vandalised wire mesh used by the Lagos State government in hedging the road around the area,” it stated.
