I’ll defeat Kwankwaso with wide margin — Senator Lado

Lado, who is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said he is not afraid of Kwankwaso, saying he will spring surprises in the election, and that the people of the district are solidly behind his candidature.
In a telephone interview, Lado, who spoke through his media aide, Alhaji Shehu Yusuf Kura, said the delay in the commencement of campaign by Kwankwaso has given him an upper hand.
“He has been running his campaign from government house but when he discovered that he is losing out, he quickly changed his track but already the people have made up their mind to vote for us because of our performance at the Senate,” he said.
According to him, the governor is scared to take his campaign to the people of the grassroots because he demolished their houses and mosques without compensation.
On the report of his attempt to decamp to APC,  he says; “It is true that Lado was one of the senators that attempted to join the APC but he did not join the party not because he was not promised a ticket but because the PDP still remains the most important and dominant party in this country,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kwankwaso at the weekend launched his campaign for the Kano Central senatorial seat, barely two weeks to the March 28 elections.
Kwankwaso, who secured the Kano central senatorial seat of the All Progressives Congress (APC),  after losing the presidential race to General Muhammadu Buhari, has preoccupied himself with the commissioning and inspection of projects he initiated in the state.
On his facebook account, Kwankwaso’s media aide, Mallam Halilu Ibrahim Dantiye on Saturday said the governor launched his campaign starting with four local government areas.
