What kind of entertainment are you into?

I am a comedian, an actor and a video director but my company is into total theatre: we do rallies, campaign, adverts, publicity, Stage dramatization, music miming choreography, shooting of music videos and everything that has to do with total theatre which is music, dance and drama.

What is your motivation?

I am a born actor. I just saw myself as an entertainer and ever since I have not relented in the race to stardom.

When did you start professionally?

I started professionally in 1995. I have done lots of live shows that I can’t even remember some: shows titled Easter Comedy Flash, Tufiakpa in conjunction with another show promoter known as Chibu Ventures all in the city of Port Harcourt.    I have also done some shows in Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt.            

What is you greatest challenge?

I have been ridiculed, rejected by friends, acquaintances and even family members; but because I have remained focused, determined and encouraged myself knowing that it is my destiny, it is now gathering momentum and I have started getting moral support both far and near, but the major challenge I am facing till date is financial support. You see, most times if I want to put up a show or produce a film I find it difficult getting finance.

How would you assess the Nigerian Entertainment Industry?

I rate the entertainment industry in Nigeria more than 50% because we are trying. In Africa, we are the best because there is creativity, innovations and there is endurance. We don’t have enough facilities yet we make use of the little we have to come out with something good to look at.

Why are you in Lagos?

I am presently in Lagos to do a mass production of a denominational movie I directed titled “Divine Call”, Divine Call is sequel of another movie I titled the “The Last Day” which is the first Nigerian home video for kids below the age of fifteen. Secondly, I just finished shooting the first ever Nigerian Musical Comedy. It is titled “Destiny” I am here for the marketing deal but I am not alone in this, I am with Abaruwa Ekine, who is the C.E.O. of Page A Entertainment. We did this musical comedy together, and co-produced the movie “Destiny”.

Have you featured in any home video?

Yes, the first Home video I featured is “Commanding Wife”. It was produced under the umbrella of AGM where I am an active member. The film featured actors like Sam Loco, Maryann Apolo, Amaso Wariboko, Larry Briggs. It was shot in 2002. So I felt it was OK for me to go out and produce my own films and I came out with my own comedy titled “Loquacious” but it is not in the market because the Executive Producer then was one Young Foundation but before we could finish the movie he passed on.

Apart from “Divine Call”, “The last Day” and Loquacious, which other films have you directed?

I have directed a musical video titled Jina Tacha. That album was performed by an artist in Port Harcourt named Jina Tacha, I have also directed some other videos too that are not yet in the market.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

Hopefully, by the grace of God, I am going to be an over popular comedian and an extra famous director here and across the shores of the country.

Are you bothered about competition?

There is competition and that is why I love originality. I hate imitation. For Instance if am going to be an MC at an occasion or to do a standup comedy at a location where there are other comedians, I come up with something unique and different. From inception, if am going to any show I give jokes that are originally from me, though others can repeat my own jokes but I don’t repeat jokes that are not from me.  It is a pace I have set for myself over the years.

Who is your role model     

My role model is this popular Actor Jackie Chan. I love Jackie Chan because he does the style of comedy I do. I want people to laugh by my actions and not from what I say. And by the grace of God I would like to act alongside Jackie Chan.
