The suspect, who also said that the particular human head found on him by the police team was meant for money-making ritual ordered by one of his customers, admitted he had been into the business of herbal medicine for long.

The father of five was arrested by a team of anti-crime police patrol team, led by an Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Sule Ojo, attached to Obalende police station, Ijebu Ode.

Ogun State commissioner of police, Alhaji Argungu Hashimu, under whose command the suspect was being held, said Rasaki Yekinni was arrested in possession of a fresh human head by the police team during a stop and search duty.

According to him, nemesis caught up with the suspect at about 8:30 pm on the day while his men were on a stop-and-search duty along Ibadan/Ijebu-Ode road.

Hashimu told Oodua Trust that the men had flagged down an oncoming Opel Saloon Car with registration number K 72 AAA and asked the driver to disembark for a search. In the process a human head was spotted, neatly concealed in a black polythene bag and hidden inside the car.

The police boss also said that the case had since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for thorough investigation.

Rasaki, the suspect, during a parade before newsmen last Monday, confessed that he was sent by an Igbo trader to purchase the human head for him for money-making ritual.

He said he was a herbalist and had been into the business for a long time, adding that he inherited the mystical power from his father.

The suspect, who claimed to be married to two wives, boasted that he could treat all kinds of ailments, using herbal medicine.

Popularly known as ‘Aro’ in Ijebu , the suspect also said that he had many customers who patronised him from neighbouring states.

According to the suspect, the human head was sold to him by one Kehinde, a native of Oru, after he was introduced to him by one motor park tout in Ijebu-Ode.
