The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a 52-year old man, Noel Davies, alleged to have been having unlawful carnal knowledge of his 12-year- old daughter. It was gathered that the act was on for over three years.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Command, DSP Caleb Ikechukwu, said the suspect was arrested on October 29, 2019.

DSP Ikechukwu said the suspect confessed to commission of the crime and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.

Information revealed that the young girl informed her school teacher during a lecture on sex education in the school.

The suspect, Noel, who is from Sierra Leone, was arrested through the intervention of the chairperson of Federation of Women Lawyer (FIDA), Ekiti State branch, Mrs. Seyi Ojo, who was contacted by the school management.

Mrs Ojo condemned the action of the man and handed him over to the police for investigation and prosecution.

Noel, who said he is a staff of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT), department of the Ekiti State University Ado- Ekiti, said he carried out the act out of foolishness and pleaded for forgiveness.

He further stated that his wife got to know about the issue sometimes ago but that it was settled at the family level.

Earlier, the girl said the act started about three years ago, when her father told her how special she was to him.
