Fatima Danjuma, a resident of Ali Kazaure in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State has explained why she stabbed her fiancée, Habib Suleiman, with a knife.

Fatima was arrested by the police on December 2, for allegedly stabbing Habib during a disagreement.

According to Fatima who, still claims she wants to marry Habib, the incident occurred when she saw him with a girl who she suspected to be his girlfriend and that when she tried to talk to him while he was with the girl he became angry.

She said: “I stabbed him out of anger. But I have never done this in my life. It is not in my character to do that. The incident occurred out of anger when I saw him with another girl.

“I was very jealous because anytime he sees me with another person, he becomes angry and even quarrelled with me. That was what resulted in the incident. 

“But I have regretted my action. I still want to marry him because we love each other. My major problem now is his parents. They are very angry and vowed not to allow him to marry me,” Fatima added.

It could be recalled that City News had on December 15, reported how Habib insisted that in spite of the incident, he still loved Fatima.

He said, “I still want to marry her. What happened was just a destiny because it can happen to anyone. We so much love each other. I think she was angry and that was why she committed such an act.

“She has regretted and pleaded with me to forgive her and I have forgiven her. If there is anyone that can help plead with my parents to allow me to marry her, I will be very grateful.

“To show her that I am still interested in her after I was discharged from hospital, I visited her at the police station to show my sympathy,” Habib added.
