I stabbed my friend to death for beating me severally – Teenage suspect

An 18-year-old homicide suspect, Nasiru Tanimu who allegedly stabbed his friend, Ahmad Muhammad to death said he committed the offence after the deceased beat him several times after a fight.

Speaking to journalist at the State Police Command in Bauchi where he was paraded, Tanimu disclosed that, they had a fight with the deceased and he followed him to two locations and beat him up.

According to him, it was while the victim was beating him at the third location that he snatched a knife from one of his friends, Harissu Sama’ila and stabbed the victim.

“We had a fight with him after rainfall. I was passing near him when he said that I stepped on his foot and then he started beating me and I left. He followed me to a carpenter’s place while I was with some other friends and started beating me again, blood started coming out from my mouth and we were separated again.”

“Later in the night, he met me and started beating me again, I quickly snatched a knife from my friend, Harissu to defend myself and I stabbed him. It was dark; I didn’t know where I stabbed him. I later learnt that it was in the stomach. I just used the knife to defend myself not to kill him. He beat me three times and I felt it was too much for me,” he said.
