The Member representing Owode/Onirin State from Asa LGA in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Ruqayat Shittu, has said that she goes to her shop to sew for her customers after her legislative duties.

The 26-year-old lawmaker, reputed as arguably the youngest female legislator in Nigeria, in a Facebook post seen by our correspondent on Tuesday, was seen in a video operating an embroidery machine in her shop.

She said, “Despite being a public official, I still work. As you all know, I am a fashionista and I still work for my clients to deliver quality products and services.”

She posted: Ise ni ogun ise, Ise ni afin di eni gi ga (being resourceful and focused takes you to the pinnacle of your career). Get busy, please work.”

A 2022 graduate of mass communication from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Ruqayat is the Chairperson of the House Committee on Youths, Sports, Information and Tourism in the 10th Kwara assembly.
