How did you feel when you emerged as one of the three students that represented Nigeria in South Korea?
I was excited and glad, it being my first time of going out of the country. It was a very good opportunity and a privilege for me.
 
How did you emerge as one of the candidates to represent the country?
There was a competition organised by the Nigerian Women Trust Fund, where we competed with students from other public and private schools. At the initial stage of the competition, there were 10 of us, where we were asked to write an essay on the role of women in developing Nigeria’s economy. After we were done my classmate and I emerged the best students from public schools, and two other students from Ladela Secondary School, Abuja, and Great Heights Academy, Abuja.
 
What was the competition you participated in all about?
Actually it wasn’t a competition per se, it was a symposium, like a seminar where we learn about the heroes of science, learning about people who invented and brought about so many things in the science field. We also asked questions.
 
What was your impression of the symposium?
I felt glad seeing myself in the midst of many foreigners and having to interact with them. It was a good feeling. Although most of them we couldn’t communicate effectively because I couldn’t speak their official language, but I got to share ideas with the few who could speak English language. It was a good feeling.
 
What would you say are the gains from the symposium?
I learnt so many things, and it also widened my horizon. I learnt that with a petrochemical engineering degree one can work  not only for an oil company but also work in so many other places like the hospitals providing bar-material for drug delivery, which is used as a fast aid for illnesses like snake bite. The bar-material for drug delivery absorbs the poison in the affected place and subsequently heals the injury or illness.  
 
What do you want to study in the university?
I intend to go for medicine, because I want to save lives, I want to also know all about the human body and I also want to know about how it functions. I also want to know how diseases can be cured, most especially cure for HIV/AIDS.
 
What is your advice to your fellow students?
My advice to my fellow students out there is that they should be serious in whatever they do, read hard and put in extra effort in their studies and also put God first in whatever they are doing.
