A chairmanship aspirant in next year’s election in Kwali Area Council, Ibrahim Mohammed Sheda, has said he will build on the good legacy left by the outgoing chairman of the council, Joseph K. Shazin, if elected.

Sheda, who is vying for the chairmanship on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), spoke with our reporter after he submitted his nomination and expression of interest forms at the FCT secretariat of the party in Abuja.

He said he preferred to sustain the development strides of the incumbent chairman since he maintained he basic tenet of providing democratic dividends.

He noted that as a youth, his administration would give priority to youth and women empowerment which, he said, would curtail crime and social vices in the council.

He said the present APC-led administration has given priority to education, hence, he would also maintain the status quo to ensure that the indigenes learning at various tertiary institutions were given scholarships.

He added that rural electrification, roads and water as well as health centres would also be given adequate attention by his administration if he was elected as the area council chairman come  May 2019.
