Adewale said this at a polling booth close to his office, along Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.
The PDP candidate is contesting for the senatorial seat alongside the incumbent All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate. Olamilekan Adeola, representing Alimosho Federal Constituency.
According to Adewale, the election might be declared free but not fair. He said this was as a result of the fact that it was only two out of 27 polling units within his ward that have functional card readers.
He lamented that other polling stations around the area had to do the accreditation manually, describing that as unacceptable.
“If it is manual let it be manual and if it is automatic let it be so. I don’t believe in the dual method. Even if I win this election, I would contest it because it is free but not fair and I challenge Solomon Adeola, APC senatorial candidate, to do same.”
But at a separate interview with journalists, the APC senatorial candidate for the district said it would be too hasty to castigate INEC for shoddy implementation of the election when the process is still midway.
“We are aware of complaints all over Nigeria that there are hiccups with the card readers. In some places, there were places where there is no election, and there are places where the election took place.
“However, there is no way we can measure INECs success until the elections are over.”
