He reacted to questions posed to him by reporters that his background as a civil servant could water his strength and resolve to tackle the federal government on several policies Nigerians may consider anti people.
Kaigama is a worker of the Ministry of Environment and Urban Development, Taraba State and National President of Association of Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ASCSN)
He said the fact he almost lost his job due to his commitment to unionism will embolden him to use his new position to add value to the lives of his members and contribute meaningfully to the progress of Nigeria.
Kaigama,who said there was no winner no vanquished in the election charged members in the union to join hands with him to take TUC beyond the level his immediate predecessor left it.
He promised to network with the Nigeria Labour Congress and other stakeholders in the country with a view to ensuring good governance and accountability in the country.
Speaking earlier, immediate past president of the union, Comrade Peter Esele said the new administration of the union should continue the struggle from where he left it.
The new administration, he said, must rise up to fight injustice in the country.
“We cannot afford to fold our arms while millions of Nigerians remain unemployed. We cannot fold our arms when the few available jobs are taken over by foreigners. Neither are we going to allow government continue to initiate and implement obnoxious policies.
‘’The congress must ensure that it gives Nigerians a living wage within the next one year because of the prevailing realities on ground,” he said.
