Lobi Stars, who are former winners of the Nigerian League and the Federation Cup when it was called Challenge Cup, are struggling to move out of relegation zone as it is sitting precariously on the League table.

Speaking to Trustsports yesterday, the mercurial defender said Lobi Stars is his home club and it would amount to insensitivity and foolishness to allow the club sink.

He said even as many clubs have tempted him with attractive offers, he has never for once contemplated moving to another club.

According to the player, there is no place like home so he is mindful of what will become of him in future, if he abandons the club now that his services are needed most.

He said: “I have been approached by many clubs in the country but I have not hidden my intention to stay and salvage Lobi Stars. Things are not as we wanted when the season commenced but all hope is not lost. If some of us who are experienced begin to look elsewhere, the younger players will not get the inspiration to carry on with the struggle.

“I am going to stay and fight the battle to the end. I am deeply convinced that at the end of the season, Lobi Stars will not be relegated. We have been this way before and we know how to survive.

While urging his team mates to re-double their efforts to get the job done, Suswam called on the management of the club to live up to its responsibilities and allow the players to play their own part.

“Our management must also live up to its responsibilities. The players should be left with the task of picking the vital points that would see us through. I have been in touch with the key players and we have resolved to give our best” he maintained.
