He worked in America and Europe for 14 years before he came back to Nigeria. He vowed never to look for a white collar job; hence he went into poultry. It was this business that earned him the title, Mr. Chicken. A dealer in feather and manure, he uses methane gas from his toilet to power his electricity.
  Mr. Chicken, who was born in Jos, the Plateau State capital, hails from Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State. He is a graduate of Geography and Planning from the University of Jos.   
Mordi, who said he was proud to be a self-employed Nigerian, had worked in the maritime sector for 12 years. He said that he worked with the Mafia in an Italian company that specialised in waste management, with branches in Spain and Germany. He also worked in the USA where he made snow balls.
 He further said it was memorable that no one could do oil and gas business without America. He is also surprised that Americans do not speak good English. They speak more of what he calls Ghetto English, adding that contrary to popular view, one must work to survive in America.
 He recalled that most of the houses in Lagos are more beautiful than those in the USA. He, however, said the difference between Nigeria and America is that all the roads in the latter are tarred.
He said that despite the fact that he was part of the Mafia, he steered clear of trouble. He avoided gangbusters, illicit drugs, credit card, ID theft, among others vices.
 On whether there are scavengers in the USA, he said that waste management is good wealth in America. He wondered why the Nigerian government is paying lip service to that sector of the economy. He said that in America, there are three types of waste container: one for metal, one for newspapers and one for bio-degradable waste such as food scraps used for bio-energy and energy generation.
 He disclosed that, if properly harnessed, waste management can generate employment for at least five per cent of the population in Nigeria.
He further said that although a lot of people own cars in the US, many of them prefer public transport.
Mordi said he later decided to work in Germany because it is the biggest economy in Europe. He met his barber in Nigeria there. He added that Frankfurt is the big apple of Europe as it is the commercial hub of the continent and the headquarters of Mercedes Benz and lots more. He disclosed that Germans are very honest and conscious of time. This is unlike Americans and Britons who are unreliable and cunning, according to him.
 On his encounter with German skin-heads, he said they were a menace, but the government has contained them, unlike the Boko Haram that has become a nightmare to the Nigerian government.
He, however, added that, to get a good job in Germany, one must be able to speak and write the German language. He said the language was difficult to understand, but he was able to master it through the use of CD, the internet and interaction with people.
When he came back to Nigeria, he vowed not to join other people to congest the labour market; hence he decided to be self-employed. Before he came, he had visited modern farms in America and Europe and learnt skills in poultry and fishery.
