A magistrates’ court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Thursday, remanded a 41-year-old man, Joshua Ayeni at the Agodi Correctional Centre for defiling and impregnating his 13-year-old stepdaughter.

The Magistrate, Patricia Adetuyibi, who ordered his remand pending advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), adjourned to October 20.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) charged the defendant on two counts of defilement and impregnation.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the defendant resides in Molete area in Ibadan.

The prosecutor, Olurotimi Afe, told the court that Ayeni, in January, defiled his stepdaughter who lived with him and his wife and that she later got pregnant. (NAN)
