Stakeholders of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, have reaffirmed the institution’s status as a duly recognized and accredited centre of learning, following recent comments questioning its standing among higher institutions in Oyo State.

In a statement signed by Ajakpofo Andrew (Eazyflow), Chairman of The Polytechnic Ibadan Stakeholders Forum, the group described the institution as one with a rich history spanning more than five decades, during which it has produced graduates who have made significant contributions to society.

The statement noted that The Polytechnic, Ibadan, is accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), with its academic programmes recognized both nationally and internationally.

“The Polytechnic, Ibadan, has established itself as a beacon of academic excellence, with a legacy of quality education and innovation,” the statement read.

The forum also highlighted the dedication of the institution’s students, staff, and alumni, stressing that their collective efforts have helped sustain its reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading polytechnics.

It further urged the academic community, alumni, and the general public to continue supporting the institution and to disregard any claims suggesting that it is not a recognized centre of learning.

“The Polytechnic, Ibadan, remains committed to nurturing future leaders and maintaining its place as a foremost institution of higher learning in Nigeria,” the stakeholders added.
