The Ibrahim Babangida University, Lapai Niger State, will be hosting an international conference to commemorate the life of foremost writer, Abubakar Gimba.
The National Conference on the Life and Writings of Abubakar Gimba is being organised by the Faculty of Languages and Communication studies and will be coming up between the 19th and 22 of August.
According to the organisers, the  event with the theme, “Writing, Resistance and the State” will feature book chats and creative writing workshops and more.
The late Abubakar Gimba, author of numerous essays, poetry and novels including Witnesses to Tears and Sunset on a Mandarin died at 63 on February 25, 2015 after a protracted illness.
