A lot of people plying the Ibokun-Imesi-Ile-Esa-Oke road have decried the excruciating experience they have had to endure on the road as it is in a very terrible state.

The road located between Ekiti and Osun state is often plied by trucks, buses, cars heading to the west from the North. As at the beginning of the year, the road was still a little bit motorable but tales from people who have travelled the road in recent times show that the road is so bad at the moment that many drivers are now choosing to go through Ila. Road users often complain that vehicles involved in accidents on the road sometimes become irreparable, while the loss of lives and horrible injuries are common among victims and survivors alike. Recently, Kidnappers have also started targeting this road and if a car is unfortunate to break down on this road, they become easy targets for kidnappers.

Robbers also use the opportunity to rob, as vehicles have to slow down or drive slowly as they navigate the bad road. The state government needs to do something about this road urgently. The rehabilitation of Ibokun-Imesi-Ile-Esa-Oke roads should be a major priority as the level of deterioration is just frustrating.
