Ibom Air has announced its partnership as the title sponsor and official airline of the Captain’s Day Inaugural Golf Tournament, scheduled for March 29, 2025, at the prestigious Ibom Golf and Country Club, Uyo.
This partnership aligns with one of Ibom Air’s strategic thrusts to promote tourism in the State through providing capacity for delegates and visitors to attend Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE).
The tournament, set on one of West Africa’s most renowned and challenging 18-hole golf courses, promises to be a landmark sporting event.
The amateur tournament will bring together golfers with handicaps ranging from 0 to 36, attracting participants from across Nigeria and Africa.
Speaking on the partnership, Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer of Ibom Air, and an avid golfer, George Uriesi underscored the importance of the partnership.
“At Ibom Air, we support initiatives that foster tourism, economic growth, and regional connectivity. Golf, much like aviation, embodies skill, precision, and excellence. We are honored to partner on an event that reflects these values while enhancing the travel experience for golfers.”
Club Captain, High Chief Isuamfon Archibong also emphasized the broader impact of the tournament, saying the Captain’s Day Golf Tournament is more than just a sporting event but platform for business networking, tourism promotion, and cultural exchange.
“Welcoming professional golfers and business leaders to Uyo will further establish Akwa Ibom as a premier lifestyle and sporting destination,” he said.
