ICAN donates N250m lecture theatre to ABU

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has built and donated a 350 capacity Lecture Theatre equipped with modern facilities, valued at  N250m to  the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony of the theatre in Zaria, the outgoing president of the institute, Deacon Titus

Soetan said ICAN’s initiative to construct the facility was born out of Ahmadu Bello University’s  commitment to strengthen accountancy education in Nigeria.

The president said one of the reasons that prompted the choice of Ahmadu Bello University  as one of the beneficiaries of ICAN’s corporate social responsibility project, was due to  the university`s contributions  in the training of accountants and other allied professionals in the country.

Deacon Soetan, however, urged the university to put the facility into effective use.

In his speech, the Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Ibrahim Garba who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor Kabiru Bala, commended ICAN for the project  and would help in moving the university forward.
