Chairman of ICPC Ekpo Nta made the statement at the 3rd National Transparency Summit of Heads of Higher Institutions of Learning in Nigeria which held in Abuja.
Nta said, “As a direct product of our successful collaboration with the NUC on the universities, we are presently in discussion with NBTE, at their own instance, to do similar exercise in the poly/mono-technics sub-sector.”
He said the commission was also discussing with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to identify and address the funding gaps in tertiary institutions which would help reduce corruption-prone processes in the tertiary education sub-sector.
He said, “as a result of our focus on the higher education sector, we have now broken the ranks of the notorious syndicates on fake higher education certificates, fake NYSC orientation camps, and fake corps members in the country.”
The ICPC chairman said the commission has been able to resolve numerous admission cases, delays from graduation and record keeping retrieval problems for many Nigerian youth.a
