The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission has said it tracked 85 Federal Government projects worth N8bn in Ekiti State to expose corruption.

ICPC’s Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner in Osun State, Mr Demola Bakare, disclosed this in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, during the commemoration of 2023 International Anti-Corruption Day.

He said the contracts were constituency projects of federal lawmakers from the state, adding that some of the contractors who did poor jobs were made to return to site to do quality jobs to ensure the people got value for the money paid to them.

Globally, December 9 is marked as the International Anti-Corruption Day to raise more awareness on corruption issues and how to tackle them.

Bakare said the day was set aside to promote collective action against corruption internationally. He reiterated the commitment of the ICPC to prosecute corrupt individuals in Nigeria.

The theme of this year’s edition was ‘Uniting the World Against Corruption for Development, Peace and Security’.

Bakare called on the media to assist the ICPC in its efforts towards tackling corruption, particularly in the area of public enlightenment.
