This one-day event, organised by Onwuegbu herself in her capacity as Lady Captain of the club, promises more than just competitive golf. It is a celebration of gratitude, connection, and community spirit.

“I’m using the birthday kitty to appreciate members for voting me as their Lady Captain,” said Onwuegbu, reflecting on her landslide victory into office. The event is expected to draw golfers across different skill levels, all eager to honour the Lady Captain and enjoy a day of sport and fellowship.

In a conversation with Golf Digest, Onwuegbu emphasized that the day goes beyond the greens and scorecards. “The day wasn’t just about birdies and pars—it was about forging bonds that would last long after the final putt dropped,” she said.

She further highlighted the wider benefits of the gathering. “We should expect friendship on and off the fairway, camaraderie, business connections, opportunities and meeting new people,” she noted.

Meanwhile, it was a day to remember as the club’s ladies’ section celebrated Children’s Day.

The celebration brought together over 200 children and their parents for a day filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
