What most find funny and puzzling at the same time, was not even the fact that it was the PDP ward chairman, who was still a member of the PDP at the time he tore the card that was doing the damage to the card.
But it was the expression on his face which conveyed a deep joy in the action he was asked to do.
Alhaji Suruddeen Oladunjoye, who is the ward chairman of the former president’s ward in Abeokuta North, demonstrated perhaps even more than Obasanjo that he was happy doing what he was told to do as he stretched, gesticulated and was almost dancing while tearing the card to pieces.
Many wonder why the PDP chairman would be happy losing such a prominent member more so as he has not come out to say he was also leaving the party.
From the action of the PDP ward chairman, many wondered if the former president had encored the lyrics of a popular nursery rhyme to steer him into action, to wit; “If you’re happy and you know it tear my card.”
