Nigerians have been advised to check their blood sugar level in order to prevent sudden death.
This was the submission of a medical laboratory scientist, Olubusola yemisi,  at the free health programme by JCI International in Ifako Ijaiye Local Government at the weekend.
She said individuals needed to know their health status, adding that, most people have one chronic ailments or another, but do not know since no test has been conducted.
According to her, many Nigerians  have diabetes, hypertension and other chronic diseases, which eventually leads to sudden death if not well managed.
Besides , Dr Tolu Taiwo from Daystar Christian Centre healthcare unit noted that malaria was one of the most common ailments people battle with.
He advised people to ensure they take into cognisance, personal hygiene and cleanliness, flowing and well kept drainage, clean environment, functional mosquito nets on doors and windows as well as sleeping under insecticide mosquito nets.
The Lagos Vice President of JCI International, Comrade Laolu Owolabi, said the free health care tagged Project Smile, started five years ago, to bring smiles to the face of people in communities.
Owolabi said the NGO partner s with swipha pharmaceuticals to give free drugs, urging corporate bodies to also donate cash or drugs and other materials for such community programmes to assist the less privileged.
The sole administrator of Ifako LG,  Babatunde Rajh Label, promised to support all organizations ready to assist the government in healthcare delivery and provision of basic amenities for the populace, with space, security and other logistics.
At the health outreach, the aged, young and pregnant were tested and treated for blood sugar test, blood pressure, temperature, weight and height. Free drugs were dispensed by pharmacist to all.
