It was alleged that Ademokun misappropriated over N5 million earmarked for the welfare of youth, including a seminar in Abuja. Armed with placards carrying various inscriptions : “We don’t want a corrupt leader,” “Ademokun must go”, the youths who were from three principal towns of Igbara-Oke, Ilara and Ijare, accused the council boss of high-handedness and incompetence.

The youths who barricaded the entrance of the secretariat alleged that Ademokun was not accessible, adding that he lacked the vision to take the council to greater height. The spokesman of the group, Mr Dada Osewa, urged the state governor to replace the council chairman with a more vibrant and purposeful leader.

He said, “All we want is that the governor should remove him from office, he has not been sensitive to the plight of the people at the grassroots.  ‘We need a youthful leader that will be able to carry everybody along, somebody who has vision for the development of the council and the betterment of youths’.

He vowed that peace could only return to the council if government appoints another person to oversee the council.

All efforts by Oodua Trust to reach the council boss on phone were unsuccessful as his cell phone was switched off.
