The campaign organisation of ESV Hon. Sani Abdulkadir (Dakaci), an All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has raised concerns over alleged delays and irregularities in the party’s direct primary election process.

In a statement issued on Friday, the campaign organisation said its representatives had remained at the APC Kaduna State Secretariat since 6:00am awaiting the release of election materials, while thousands of party members across different wards were still waiting for officials and materials at designated polling centres.

The organisation noted that, in line with APC guidelines, the primary election was expected to be conducted through a direct voting process at the ward level under the supervision of officials deployed by the APC National Secretariat, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) serving only as an observer.

According to the statement, the campaign had fully complied with all party requirements by deploying agents and mobilising supporters peacefully for the exercise.

However, it expressed concern that the continued absence of election materials and officials was casting doubt on the transparency, fairness and credibility of the process.

The campaign organisation therefore called on the national leadership of the APC to urgently intervene by ensuring the immediate distribution of election materials and deployment of credible officials to conduct what it described as a free, fair and transparent primary election.

It also urged INEC to closely monitor the situation and ensure compliance with democratic standards and party guidelines.

The statement added that ESV Hon. Sani Abdulkadir (Dakaci) and his campaign team remained committed to democracy, justice and the unity of the APC.
