The Chairman of the Akpugo Development Union Peace Committee, Mr. Agu Okechukwu Samuel (JP) has called on the Akpugo Community in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State to embrace peaceful coexistence and remain as one indivisible entity.
The chairman made the plea while speaking with newsmen after the union’s peace committee meeting yesterday in Abuja, saying that meaningful development could only be achieved in an atmosphere free of rancor and promised his people that before the end of next year people of Akpugo will be speaking with one voice.
Samuel maintained that the union is a collective body that brings the entire people of Akpugo together with a view to bringing lasting peace, unity and development of the community, state and the country as a whole, adding that the peace committee has toured all the knocks and crannies of the community to ensure that peace is sustained.
He, however, encouraged their sons and daughters to reflect on the spirit of the season and exhibit Christian virtues even as they celebrate Christmas and show love to one another, help one another as Christ did.
