Igbos, who met with Maku at the Igbo Community Hall in Lafia, informed him that they have the mandate of Igbos in South-East and the Diaspora to deliver him at the April 11 poll.
“We see Maku as our Ojukwu in Nasarawa State,” declared Prince Michael Agbai, state president general of Igbo Community Association (ICA), who went on to reel out Maku’s track records as deserving of total support by Igbos in the state.
Agbai and other Igbo leaders at the meeting said they believed that Maku represents the unification of all ethnic groups in the state where they said Igbos constitute 40 percent of the population, adding that Maku would return peace in the state if elected.
Maku, who was accompanied by his running mate, Alhaji Abu Ibrahim and the party’s House of Representatives candidate for Lafia/Obi Omar Nurudeen, told the people that if elected, he would see to the start of a new revolution anchored on hard work to encourage the Igbo habit of “reaping from their hard work.”
