The Igbo community in Kano State has rejected the setting up of a parallel Ohanaze Ndigbo worldwide in the state.
The opposition came in a statement issued and jointly signed by the President, Ohaneze Ndigbo Kano, Prince Chris Dominion Ohaeri and its Secretary, Chief Damian Obisike.
According to the officials, Igbos in Kano have totally condemned any attempt to bring division among them.
“The attempt to bring division into Igbo community in Kano State is a bad omen and ill wind that blows no one any good. However, the Kano Ohaneze under the leadership of Prince Chris Ohaeri is willing to accommodate every well-meaning Igbo to build a formidable Igbo community for the peace and progress of Igbos in the state,” said the statement.
They further stated that the community’s unalloyed allegiance remains with one and indivisible Ohaneze in the state adding that it is against any ploy that may pose as a threat to the well-managed security and peaceful coexistence of Kano State.
