IGP Egbetokun hails police polo team prowess

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has hailed the Nigerian Police polo team for being worthy ambassadors of the Force at the just concluded 2023 Abuja Carnival Polo Tournament.

It will be noted that the Police team, Abuja Rubicon and the Nigerian Army led others to emerge top winners of the fiesta.

Police IGP who lauded the team for their discipline and sportsmanship during the event that attracted over 30 teams from across the country, congratulated the team for finishing tops in the race for the FCT Minister’s Cup over ten tough oppositions.

IGP Egbetokun who was the Special Guest of Honour at the finals of the prestigious polo festival that saw Rubicon and Malcomines finishing winners and runners-up respectively in the President Cup race, insisted that the participation of the Police team in the event goes far beyond winning laurels.

Egbetokun who was represented by the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Police Mobile Force, Deinma Abibo, the Police Force participation in the tournament alongside the Military and Civilians has instilled the spirit of unity and national cohesion amongst the various forces as well the public.

“First and foremost, sports keep us physically fit, and mentally alert. “It also creates room for inter-agency relationships, collaboration, and synergy.” The IGP declared.

“So, against that backdrop, it helps us to promote unity amongst sister agencies. “Outside that, it also creates a forum for community policing with members of the public,” he added.
