Alimosho in Lagos deserved special developmental treatment, considering its official population figure and voting strength during elections. It is however not debatable that she has been consistently denied her deserved dividends of democracy. In fact, considerable part of the region especially Orisumbare, Idimu has been without basic amenities like electricity.

Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company, IKEDC has unjustifiably disconnected Orisumbare, Idimu from electricity supply. Interestingly, it is still issuing the usual estimated crazy bills and forcefully pushing electricity consumers therein to pay for services never rendered. The latest development is that each household is expected to pay ten thousand naira, N10, 000, primarily to repair and supply gas to IKEDC’s faulty transformer.

It further stands that Alimosho is seriously groaning under the heavy burden of IKEDC at a time her elected officials like Senator Solomon Adeola, Hon. Olufemi Adebanjo are pulling national spotlight. But, what is their political relevance when it very clear that their primary constituency especially Orisumbare, Idimu is the easiest prey for economic marauders? Honestly, when will Adeola, Adebanjo and other elected officials realise that socio-economic activities have been brought to a complete halt in Alimosho?
