Ikeja Rotary Club installs first female president

The Rotary Club of Ikeja, District 9110, Nigeria, has installed Rotarian Olaitan Ojuroye as it’s 50th and first female president.
At the investiture ceremony in Lagos, Ojuroye was inaugurated alongside other members of the 2016/2017 board of directors.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Ojuroye was born in Kaduna on August 31,1958. Ojuroye attended Queens College, Yaba, before proceeding to the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife, where she bagged B.sc  in economics in 1980. She later became a chartered accountant and a fellow of the Chattered  Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) of UK and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Institute of Directors (IoD).
The new Ikeja Rotary Club president joined the Unilever Nigeria Plc where she spent 28 years.
She also worked with Unilever West Africa where she was appointed information security officer. She attended extensive training in Durban, South Africa, and London, UK.
Ojuwoye subsequently joined the Nigerite Limited as general manager of finance. In 2010, she was appointed as executive director of finance and became the first woman to serve on the board of the company in its 52 years of existence in Nigeria.
Her journey in Rotary Club started when she joined the Rotary Club, Isolo, in 2009 and served as the club treasurer in 2010/2011.
