The Technical Adviser of Ikorodu City FC, Bright Ozebagbe, has attributed his team’s 0-1 loss to Nasarawa United to a slight loss of concentration, saying his players “fought really hard” and remained tactically disciplined.

Nasarawa United secured a slim 1-0 win over Ikorodu City FC  in match-day 29 of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League at the Lafia township stadium.

Bright Amadi’s 83rd-minute free-kick sealed the victory for the ‘Solid Miners’ on Sunday evening.

This dramatic win propels Nasarawa United to third position with 47 points, five points behind table-topping Rivers United, and three points behind second-placed Enugu Rangers.

Speaking after the match, Ozebagbe  said “We conceded the foul. You can’t work really hard for 40 minutes and five minutes to win the game and you concede such a goal.

“We’ll go back home, we’ll work on those areas, we’ll keep working to get better and we’ll play better next time.”

Nasarawa United Head Coach, Mbwas Mangut, praised his team’s resilience in securing the victory.

“We were aware of how difficult this game would be. We sat back a lot, not creating one single scoring chance,” Mangut said.

He also noted that his boys over-respected Ikorodu City in the first half.

Mangut said changes made at half-time paid off, with the team creating chances in the second half.
